When making your dishes, please remember we will be feeding between 150-200 people, so bring large sizes of your contributions. Thank you. The pack will be providing the Main dish and drinks.

Cake Contest Rules & Information

A highlight of the Blue and Gold banquet is the cake decorating contest. The creativity and skill of Pack families has been demonstrated over many years of celebrations. We will accept family entries and the traditional father/son cake creations.

These are the rules for the contest:

  1. The cake must be made/decorated by the Scout and his immediate family.
  2. All cakes must be on a disposable plate.
  3. All components and decorations must be edible.
  4. The cake should be submitted by 4:30 p.m., on Febrary 25, 2012.
An index card must be submitted along with the entry providing:
  1. The Scout's name and Den
  2. The title of the cake
  3. A list of ingredients in and on the cake. If a packaged mix is used, provide the name of the product (e.g., "Betty Crocker Devil's Food cake mix") rather than all ingredients in the product.
Cakes will be judged in the following categories:
  • Tallest - as determined at the time of entry by tape measure
  • Scout's Choice - as determined by the majority of voting scouts
  • Best Tiger Theme - as determined by a select panel of judges
  • Best "Olympics" theme - as determined by a select panel of judges
  • Yummiest looking - as determined by a select panel of judges
  • Most Colorful - as determined by a select panel of judges
  • Judges' Choice - as determined by a select panel of judges
Winning cakes will be auctioned during the banquet; all others will be served as dessert.
